7. Flappy Bird

Who in the world does not remember Flappy Bird? The game broke records in and out of the Google Play Store. In the game, you are a bird and with Mario-like pipes, you must navigate without touching the pipes or it is game over.

But why exactly did it get banned? Well, let’s just say that the developer of the game was suffering from success. Nguyen, the maker of the game said that even though he made money that has basically gotten set for life, he has an addictive game, which is not good for the fans.

Imagine being so successful and then bailing out because you care for the world. He’s a real one for that. 

Flappy Bird took the world by storm and became a new trend back in 2013. It gained 90 million downloads aphotnd raked $50,000 dollars a day in revenue, but was ultimately halted because… well…dopamine bad, mental health good. 

However, you can still play Flappy Bird on PC. Just visit flappybird.io and you are good to go.

6. HyperFront

While HyperFront is mainly an online game, it could also be played offline, which was such a plus. Do you know Valorant? Well, HyperFront was like a really good knock-off of it. You got almost the same guns with different names, similar characters, and maps, but even the characters’ one-liners were copied. But it is also true that it is one of the best offline games that got banned on Play Store.

You can call HyperFront a mobile port of Valorant until the development studio behind Valorant finds out and decides to file a lawsuit. In a long pursuit of things, we lost HyperFront and nothing remained except memories. 

5. Dead Space

This game took the world by storm when it was first launched. Being a survival science fiction title, it was an offline game that got banned pretty quickly on the Play Store. In the game, you have to fight some of the weirdest-looking aliens called Necromorphs and survive while doing missions.

But why exactly did a game that had everything good under the Sun get banned? Here we go again. Dead Space is technically not banned because the development studio decided to rename it. However, the main reason for it being discontinued was because the Android counterparts of the game were facing major bugs.

Most people didn’t even hear the audio really made them angry and ultimately abandoned the game. Now, the original Dead Space title is offline from the EA servers, giving us nothing but memories of the game. 

4. Call of Duty Strike Team

Long before the trend of online games started to settle in, we had Call of Duty Strike Team. The game was released for both Android and iOS, till it wasn’t… anymore. I remember playing Strike Team and having a lot of fun.

You break into the enemies’ territory, break doors, and guards, and just shoot your heart out. Just like Activision broke our hearts by banning the damn game. Yeah, it’s true. While we have never received an official statement from Activision, a lot of people suspect that it got banned because the game wasn’t worth it.

It wasn’t worth maintaining on the Play or App Store so it got banned. Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. All in all, Strike Team is one of the best offline games that got banned on Play Store.

3. WWE Immortals

WWE Immortals was one of the best offline games until it got banned on the Play Store and App Store. On paper, everything was perfect. You have great fighting mechanics, amazing gameplay, and decent graphics for a mobile game.

Moreover, a wide array of wrestlers were present in the game too but why exactly did it shut down in the first place? While we haven’t received any original response from the authorities, we do know that it could most probably be due to licensing agreements or contractual reasons. 

2. NOVA 3 Freedom

Now, NOVA 3 was the heart and soul of futuristic titles on Play Store. Developed by Gameloft, this was an action-adventure title with loads of unique battles and guns that you could shoot for hours without getting bored.

There were many missions and stages, and with each stage, things would progressively become harder. But just like all the games on our list, leaving Nova 3 was the hardest. The reason why NOVA 3 was banned was really simple. 

Their license with EULA seemed to have expired and the company didn’t see the future of the game, so they hid the game and turned the online servers offline. Unfortunately, you cannot access NOVA 3 anymore. 

1. FIFA 14

FIFA 14 is the best FIFA game on mobile ever! There, I said it. The game was an offline title with a big size and so much content that people were leaving the console version to shift to mobile. In the game, you had a lot of modes, offline players, leagues, and teams. 

Heck, you could even do so many customizations, that your head would spin. But FIFA 14 got banned just like many Play Store titles. The reason wasn’t quite mentioned or even communicated through EA Sports but I guess they just like to ban stuff.
